Grand Princess July 2012 Diary

Delayed trains rain, Mohican man helped me change platforms, smooth check on, started to read 50 shades of Grey. Wasn't hungry but ate steak. Had more steak for dinner. Mosied round ship in bed for 10.30.

Clock went forward an hour after I booked hair for 8am which wad 7am GMT. Had loads cut off & red lowlights $99 Ma paid for it. 

Breakfast with Peggy & Eileen then went to Hold Em quiz. Got 10/10. 

Shopping in Rotterdam 3 hours bought skinny black jeans. Realised no posh shoes. Ma convinced posh night,  was casual! shown to table when joined by breakfast buddies Peggy & Eileen. Had a blast. Ma had 2 mains rejected duck and ate rib eye steak (shock) then had 2 sweets..!

Watched Tom Pepper comedian who was very funny.. Man in fridge. Went to bed escorted to staff quarters by Tom who knows Jonny Kalendar.
 
Day at sea and first art class. 43 people, impressed by Ma's demo on camera. Lots of good feedback. Had pizza, then watched Adjustment Bureau then slept. Woken by Peggy calling to say meet at 8.30.

Helsinki Went to the market on my own €10 shuttle bus, bought earrings and found a cafe with free wifi spoke to Fred, took loads of videos of the market.

St Petersburg day 1 ma's knee still hurting so cancelled trip, I was up at 7.30am let ma sleep in till 9am then managed an hour in the blazing sun then it rained, had pizza then a nap, then went for dinner with George the lecturer, spent an hour at the table whilst laundry was washing/drying then Ma saw some Russian dancers whilst I was on book 3 of Grey.

Fitful sleep, ma woke me at 7.30 despite my protest for a lie in she opened the curtains! I reminded her I allowed her to snooze yesterday to no avail :/
Painted the ice cream cone took me 3 hours, then we played scrabble & did body parts quiz

Tallin was great ma bought me some Estonian design socks, got very wet, took loads of photos of the town hall and old buildings. Had coffee and beer at 9.30am loads of others also drinking lager. Bought vodka and allowed to take it to my room despite rules saying it would be kept till the end of the cruise. Had stomach ache, probably due to 8 days of 5,000 calories & eating every 2 hours whether hungry or not.

Gydnia today very rainy, ma on a trip so I played the quiz (Dr Bunsen Honeydew - The Muppets) then after a breakfast of prunes, melon fresh pineapple & muslei, treated myself to broccoli soup and cheese & biscuits and sliced turkey. Finished off my ice cream painting then went to play shuffleboard but it was rained off. Sat outside Ten5 and read my kindle all quiet and alone.

Won $25 on roulette, had last nights vino, met the girls for tea, Laura London picked Ma out for stage 'pegasus'

Art class was incredibly busy, majority were returners, due to BS TV announcement 8 newbies attended too.

After lobster and massive prawns and asparagus, hit the roulette table $5 on red, 2 corners of 32 and on the nose and it dropped in! $90 thank you, cashed out and left.

Today in Oslo I'm a tour guide for the Vigeland Sculpture, holmenkollen 1952 Olympic ski jump slope and the viking museum home to 3 viking ships. 8am start, 11.30am finish, dropping us in Oslo centre for a bit of sightseeing. McD adult meal $30 here, 10 to the £1.

16,000 sculptures all over Oslo, 180 varieties of rose & 121 figures in the monolith. Had a walk through Oslo and had free wifi outside Ben & Jerry's.

Saw Laura London the magician who was great, also Gary T Thompson the comedian. Ventriloquist was hilarious - he was 2nd to Susan Boyle.

Had 2 roast beef dinners, exhausted, fell asleep with the big light on.
